ABOUT MARY

Mary Hays is a fourth generation Arizonan. Her family, as well as her late husband John's family, have been ranching in Arizona since statehood. Mary's art reflects the rancher's deep connection and unique perception of land in the American West.


Anchored in these Arizona landscapes, she paints bold planes of color and abstract organic forms. Through a blend of representation and abstraction, the viewer is always aware of a solid landscape structure. Oil is her preferred medium.


Mary's award-winning paintings and monoprints have been shown in galleries for three decades. She has had several solo shows, and her work is included in many national collections. She currently works out of her studio on her ranch in Peeples Valley, Arizona.
